With the credit crunch and difficulty in getting finance for these real estate purchases a lot of people are now turning to less well known investment opportunities such as Hungary. Hungary isn't normally thought of in the UK when considering overseas investments but the Europeans know about it. The Lake Balaton area especially is already used by many Europeans as a holiday resort. The Lake itself is commonly known as the Hungarian Sea due to it's overwhelming vastness being almost 50 miles long. Hungarian properties tend to be cheaper than in most European countries and the lifestyle can be a lot more relaxing so property purchases recently have started to rise and are expected to reach more European type levels over the next few years, Hungary is already in the EU but doesn't yet have the Euro, when that happens obviously property prices are expected to take a big leap so investment opportunity is currently good unlike most other countries where prices tend to be on the way down.
